Picked up Matthew from Marsden Cove Marina - SV WAKAWAKA 2024

Following the slow sail past home in light wind I carried on down Whangārei Harbour in our Leopard 45 Catamaran. Mate Matthew had rung earlier in the day to say he would be up from Auckland thus evening. I anchored under Mount Aubrey by the site of the old freezing works. Once Matthew was close I headed into Marsden Cove Marina and picked him up.
Sunday dawned once again with light winds. We started our trip back up harbour. The wind died completely. Later a gentle headwind developed, Matthew tacked us successfully up the channel under jib alone. Tied up at Port Nikau Marina before the rain arrived. Back to Marsden Cove by car where we had lovely lunch at “The Marina” restaurant, then Matthew headed back to Auckland in his car.
