Hancock Md.

From the C&O towpath, I enter Hancock at mp 124.2 1/4 mile east of the bike shop. You could access the bike shop from the towpath at mp 124.5 further west a bit.

Buddy Lou's restaurant is immediately in front of me.

I turn left/west onto the Western Md Rail Trail.
Watch for the vehicle WMRT crossings.

I am just riding. I pass in front of the C&O Bicycle shop and then go a short distance further west on the paved rail trail.

Not much further after the yellow gates on the paved WM Rail Trail are ground steps. They lead down to a town park pavillion with electric outlets and public water hydrant at the pavillion.

Have been informed that trail camping is allowed for free overnight. Used to contact the town administrator, but around 2020, I was informed that we can just camp there if using the Trail.

The bathroom has inside cold water at the sink.
Outdoor water fountains and shower are turned off. But on the far right of the pavillion is a red water hydrant/handle (faucet) with public water.
All free for use. Set up a tent anywhere under pavillion or in the grass area.

The bathroom locks during freezing temps around late Oct until April approximately.

Electric stays on year-round as well as the hydrant water faucet (as far as I've noticed).

Sheetz is in the distance towards the left on Main Street. It has a small unisex bathroom.

Of course there are other businesses in town.

Hardees to the right on Main Street as is Burger King another mile along with IHOP.
