Oaxaca is known for having some of the best street food in Mexico, as well as being home to some of the most popular food in Mexico. Oaxaca has many traditional foods to eat that we were dying to try. We’d heard how tasty, flavourful, delicious and yummy the food is here!

We started our Mexican street food tour in Oaxaca trying some local, rolled street tacos. In Oaxaca, they make their chilaquiles with mole, which we just had to try! So tasty and rich.

Chiles en Nogada is a popular food in Mexico, but can only be found two months of the year. We were lucky to try it at a place that sells chiles en nogada all year round. The three colours of the dish are what make it known as the Mexican flag dish, an incredible food to eat in Mexico. We finished off our Mexican street food tour in Oaxaca, Mexico at a local shop for a very Oaxacan empanada, full of yellow mole.
