One man revealed that he had been demanded cash to pass the 8th dan examination.Examinations for higher ranks, such as 8-Dan and Hanshi, are conducted by very few people who already have 8-Dan Hanshi.
This led to widespread bribery, business entertainment, and secret gifts for the examinees to pass.
At most, there was a demand for a bribe of 6.5 million yen, and the ranks were sold for money.The high-ranking masters involved in the cheating apparently stated they regretted their actions, but no further resolution was achieved.
We can only hope this kind of injustice is not occurring now.
