Classic TV Theme: Poirot (+ Bonus!)

David Suchet's portrayal of Agatha Christie's Belgian sleuth is regarded as the most faithful to the author's conception. Over 13 seasons and 70 episodes nearly every Christie story featuring Poirot was dramatized. But fans of Christie's work took issue when the show took a turn in season nine; new producers introduced elements alien to the original stories, making them grittier with sex, drugs, etc. (Recent Christie adaptations are even worse in that regard.) The gorgeously animated 'Poirot' opening sequence, enhanced with Christopher Gunning's memorable theme music, was featured in the earlier seasons; by the time the series switched from one-hour shows to movie-length episodes it was pretty much a thing of the past.
