In November, Phileo hosted our first ever Equine Gut Microbiome Conference…

Leading researchers, vets, trainers, nutrition experts and industry leaders gathered at the iconic Curragh Racecourse to share the latest thinking on the equine gut microbiome and what it means for the horses we care for.

The message was clear: gut health is about far more than just digestion or energy supply! A healthy, balanced hindgut microbiome plays a huge role in so many body systems within the horse – including (but not limited to!) digestion, immunity, behaviour, gene expression, performance and longevity.

At Phileo, it is a privilege to use our unique expertise and connections to support our industry and promote better welfare and happier, healthier horses. This field of research is still in its early stages, but our understanding is growing every day. The most exciting part is knowing just how much there is to learn still…
