Ok, builds after this one or updated builds since this video released are confirming that you can stay encrypted but have to make sure to run the supplied TWRP from the links provided. You still have to format your data partition just as you would to unencrypt your device on other Pie builds. This is required so back up. Follow all instructions in the OP.
