Our guest, Alan Taylor MSc, MLACP, MCSP, is a physiotherapist and a full-time lecturer at the University of Nottingham. He is also an associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and Hertford University. Alan co-convenes the ‘Musculoskeletal Disorders & Diseases’ module and the ‘Advanced Practice Physiotherapy’ Masters module. His Master’s degree focused on sports injury and therapy, specifically investigating blood flow problems in elite athletes.

With over 20 years of experience teaching postgraduate clinical courses, Alan specializes in topics such as altered haemodynamics, manual therapy, vertebrobasilar insufficiency, cervical arterial dysfunction (CAD), and sports medicine. He is also an expert witness in cases of medical negligence related to altered haemodynamics and CAD.

Alan has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles primarily focused on CAD, haemodynamics, and sports injury, as well as 6 book chapters on haemodynamics, CAD, clinical reasoning, and manual therapy. His primary research interests lie in haemodynamics and sports medicine. Additionally, he is a member of the literature review program on CAD commissioned by the MACP.
