Toyota RAV4 (2019-2024): How To Service Rear Brakes? Electrical Parking Brake Actuator Release.

This video will show how to service rear brakes in the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Toyota RAV4. We will show how to release the electrical parking brake using 9 and 12-volt batteries. We will remove the rear caliper and retract the cylinder piston. This will allow you to replace the rear brake pads and/or rotors on your 2019-2024 RAV4.

This is the manual way of unwinding the parking brake motor using 9 or 12-volt batteries, the same result can be achieved by using the built-in rear brake service mode. To Disengage the electric parking brake you need to press the engine Start/Stop button twice, press and hold the brake pedal and then press the electric parking brake parking button. The red light on the button will disappear. This will disengage the parking brake. To engage the electric parking brake, you simply need to pull the brake button up.
