Ajai –meaning conqueror or savior in the Arabic tongue– is the name chosen by this cultural reggae artiste whose given name is Brian Todd Antonio Sean Boucher aka Ras Ajai. Born on the 15th of June 1983 at the Spanish Town Hospital, and was adopted at age 5 by a Mr. Brown a pastor and his wife. Ras Ajai first found his love for music in the very church his dad ministered, where he became a member of the church choir. This experience allowed him to learn to play musical instruments e.g. keyboard, drums and bass guitar and harness his singing talent. Ras Ajai get his musical influence from the artiste such as Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond and Buju Banton to name a few. Ras Ajai has allowed his natural and spiritual beliefs to transcend through his music.
Ras Ajai as grown as a performing artiste by virtue of performing on a number of prominent stage shows which includes “St Mary Mi Come From”, “Sting”, “Rebel Salute”, “Taurus and Friends” to name a few he has also performed on a number of TV Stations, Cable Stations, and Radio Stations building a repertoire as a vocally and lyrically dominant performer. He has also garnered success on several musical charts both in the written and electronic media with songs such as “Pack UP U Tings” ft Izrel, “Everytime”, “Say She Like”, “Rastafari Guidance”. Ras Ajai is currently recording with the legendary Dean Fraser who is personally mentoring him to be a complete artiste musically and the business of music.
