The Tulsa Girls Art School’s mission is to “empower underserved girls through visual arts education in a supportive environment teaching financial management and life skills.” Tulsa Girls Art School is an innovative after-school arts program for Tulsa Public School girls, where participating students are chosen by their principal and art teacher. Art supplies, instruction, transportation and food are provided. Students enter as third graders and continue through high school. Each student attends class two times a week plus Saturdays. Summer classes are for four weeks with a field trip.

Tulsa Girls Art School stands apart from other local charitable organizations by providing professional level art instruction by local art teachers and artists. They provide a small class environment to give students plenty of individual instruction and encouragement. The program focuses on increasing student understanding and appreciation of art and the life of an artist. They encourage children to see themselves as artists and life-long participants in the arts.
