About Project :


Smart Highway Technology is the term for number of different proposals to incorporate technologies into roads for improving accident detection, for auto switching street lights by detection of motion near it and automatic traffic signal controlling etc. The purpose of Smart Highway is to develop safer and more convenient highways by means of converging the highly advanced road technologies. This project includes automatic traffic signal controlling, auto switching street light which turn ON when any vehicle come near to PIR sensor range. We are also interfacing LDR with automatic street light for to remain switched off at day time. We are also implementing a wireless black box for vehicles to detect accidents with location alerts through SMS. SMS will be sent to the ambulance unit for ambulance rescue operation. The black box has MEMS sensor which detects orientation of vehicle, GPS module for collecting location coordinates in longitude and latitude, vibration sensor to detect heavy vibration whenever a vehicle hits something or vehicle hits by another vehicle, GSM Module for sensing a SMS which contains accident information to the ambulance rescue unit, 16x2 LCD to display current Longitude and Latitude, 433MHz RF module is for sending signal to nearby RF Receiver for alerting and notifying the drivers on highway to give space for ambulance rescue operation if necessary.
