OP-Amp Power Supply Rejection Ration (PSRR of Operational Amplifier)

Описание к видео OP-Amp Power Supply Rejection Ration (PSRR of Operational Amplifier)

In this video, What is power supply rejection ratio PSRR of an op amp?
What is PSRR value of an ideal op amp?
How do you caliculate PSRR,
What is PSRR and CMRR combined effect in supply symmetry vs asymmetry,
Should PSRR be high or low?
How do you test PSRR?
What are the formulas of PSRR,
How ripple frequency or noise creates PSRR,
How op-amps power supply terminals to be decoupled,
All these topics are explained with examples and derivations.

PSRR: In Operational amplifiers or Electronic systems, Power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) also called Supply voltage rejection ratio (SVR) is the term widely used to describe the capability of that circuit to suppress any power supply variations in its output signal,

PSRR = Change in Input offset voltage / Change in Supply voltage,

PSRR (dB) = 20 Log 10 * PSRR,

Ideally, PSRR is infinity but typical value around 100dB,

If both positive and Negative supply voltage changes symmetrically for an OP-Amp, The shift in offset voltage occurs because of PSRR,
If both positive and Negative supply voltage changes Asymmetrically for an OP-Amp, the shift in offset voltage occurs because of both CMRR and PSRR,

PSRR is very much dependent on Supply voltage ripple frequency and reduces with an increase in ripple frequency,

Because of PSRR is frequency-dependent OP-Amps Power supply terminals must be well decoupled,
For lower frequencies OP-Amps both power terminals must be decoupled with 10Mfd to 50Mfd Electrolytic capacitors with circuit track distance not more than 10cm,
For higher frequency decoupling OP-Amps, both power terminals must be decoupled with ceramic capacitors of 0.01Mfd to 0.1Mfd with shorter leads.
