Thailand poised to 'lead the way' as first country in Southeast Asia to legalise marriage equality

Thailand’s parliament passed a same-sex marriage bill in a landslide vote on Wednesday, paving the way for the nation to become the first in Southeast Asia to recognise marriage equality. Speaking to France 24's Nadia Massih, Human Rights Watch's Asia Division Deputy Director Phil Robertson hailed the move as a “huge step forward” for equality, not just in Thailand, but the entire region.
