Here is a simple DIY for changing the transmission fluid in a second-generation Toyota Prius. it is the same procedure for a 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Prius. It might be the same method for newer Priuses but I'm not 100% positive. It's about as easy as changing your oil and costs roughly $50 to do it yourself.
