Samotics (formerly Semiotic Labs) and SMS Group are cooperating to help advance the metallurgical industry. Samotics’ SAM4 solution will be integrated within the complete Genius CM® Condition Monitoring of SMS Group. In addition, as part of the cooperation SAM4 will be integrated as an app into the MySMS platform of SMS Digital. SAM4 uses AI-driven electrical waveform analysis to detect more than 9 out of 10 developing failures (both mechanical and electrical) up to five months in advance. The predictive maintenance system installs inside the motor control cabinet, not on the asset in the field. This makes it particularly useful for the monitoring of equipment in service under rough operating conditions as typical in the metallurgical industry.
