Pros and Cons of Living in Avon Indiana. There are many pros and cons of living in Indianapolis and Avon, Indiana is no different. Avon, Indiana has been voted as one of the top places to live in the entire U.S. multiple times but is somehow overshadowed some by other suburbs around Indianapolis. Avon, Indiana is one of the first places, if not the first place I visited in the Indianapolis area many years ago. I still have memories of those visits. Avon, Indiana isn't a large town but was certainly smaller in the early 90's but it seemed so large to me. Many of the pros for Avon have to do with its smaller size and just how friendly it is for most people... especially families. However, at first glance, you might think Avon, Indiana is one of the busiest places around Indianapolis. The reason you might think this is because Rockville Road or U.S. 36 runs right through the heart of Avon, Indiana. But, you don't have to travel far off that road to find a very peaceful and relatively inexepensive suburb of Indianapolis.
