A Karnataka government survey conducted across 102 Assembly constituencies has sparked political controversy amid Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” campaign.

The Karnataka Monitoring and Evaluation Authority surveyed over 5,000 people in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, and Mysuru. Key findings:

91% believe elections in India are free and fair

85% trust the election process and the Election Commission

80% trust EVMs for accurate results
Trust was highest in Kalaburagi and lowest in Bengaluru — but still strong.

BJP leaders R. Ashoka and Gaurav Bhatia slammed Rahul Gandhi, saying the survey exposes his claims. Congress leader Siddaramaiah defended Rahul Gandhi, stating his concerns were raised after inquiry.

The twist: the survey report, dated August 2025, has now been removed from the Karnataka government website for “review and discussion,” raising questions about transparency and political motives.
