In the southwest corner of New Hampshire lies an impressive mountain called "MONADNOCK", known to many for its remarkable views across to Boston, north to the White Mountains, west to New York's Adirondacks and south to the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. So impressive are the views that visitors tend to overlook what they drive through at the foot of Mount Monadnock. That is Jaffrey, for most visitors.
Let's DO pay attention to the town, now. Because…. Jaffrey's just turned 250 years old this year 2023 and is finding multiple ways to celebrate. Here’s a HUGE PARADE! Far from the usual affair for a small town, and with lots of floats prepared by local organizations. These might make you giggle or clap.... More than a few antique vehicles, some surprising... These begin with a 1914 model T Ford and run through a hearse set on sled-runners (well this is NH and Mount Monadnock attracts snow bigtime).
