Growing a JUNGLE in my Ukrainian apartment 🌴

Hi there! I’m Elena, an expat in Odessa, Ukraine. I love plants and during the last 2 years I grew a small urban jungle in my Ukrainian apartment filled with un-killable, easy to care houseplants like Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum), Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema), Golden Pothos (Epipremnum) and Snake plant (Sanseveria), that is considered nearly indestructible.

🌺As well as a couple of very beautiful, but fussy plants like Bird of paradise, Rubber plant, Croton and Ficus.

Cut the vine into segment around leafs. Each leaf has an eye at the base from which the roots will grow, The end tip is said not to be good for propagating but it worked for us. Keep at temperatures 20 Celsius. Replace water every week. In 3-4 weeks the cuttings will develop a root system. To get a good looking plant you need a 15 cuttings for 10cm pot so when the plant grows it has a full, lush crown.

The children grow on the mama-plant’s stem. Cut them at the base, wash your hands - the juice is toxic. If the cutting has a wooden stem cut it in the criss-cross pattern at the base to allow for better absorption. Place the cuttings in water for 4-5 weeks and they will develop a root system. Replace water every week.
