This tutorial video shows every step of creating a dot mandala on a recycled CD, with flowing swooshes that add movement to the design. There is no talking in this video — all guidance is provided through on-screen text, so you can follow along at your own pace.

This piece uses my popular swoosh-style design that a follower nicknamed the “Game of Thrones” design — not my name, but it stuck 😄. I’ve created several variations of this mandala in different color combinations, and I still love how dynamic and dramatic these designs turn out.

This format is ideal if you prefer quiet, focused tutorials where you can pause, rewind, and dot along step by step.

🛠️ Materials Used

• Recycled CD (donated by The B-Side Record Shop in Trail, BC)
• Basic Amazon stylus dotting tools (0.5 mm to 2.0 mm)
• White art paint tray
• Water-soluble pencil
• FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic – Black
• DecoArt Crafters Acrylic – Black
• DecoArt Metallic Acrylic – Bronze
• DecoArt Crafters Acrylic – Leaf Green - the last row has some white added as I was using up leftovers from another piece
• Happy Dotting Company mandala template
• Ruler
• Silicone tools (for scooping leftover paint back into bottles — no paint wasted)
