This was not the project I had planned for this week, but a friend of mine had commissioned me to make a Valentine's Day item from olivewood for him to gift to his fiancé. I originally planned to turn a finial heart inside out on the lathe, but I ran into some difficulties. Perhaps when/if I revisit that piece, it could be a subject of a future video. But I have been wanting to turn a box as part of a finial, and this seemed like a good opportunity! I hope you enjoy the process. Let me know what you think!
