Installing Sony Vaio Windows 95 On 86Box

Описание к видео Installing Sony Vaio Windows 95 On 86Box

Sony Vaio Windows 95 isn't too hard to install. However, for a mostly trouble-free setup, follow the setup procedure as outlined in this video. Download the appropriate files and create the 86Box setup as shown in the video. After the VM is created, mount the Sony Recovery ISO into 86Box, change the BIOS setting to make the CD-ROM drive the first bootable drive, and let the ISO boot up. Just FDISK and FORMAT the drive, standard DOS style. However, after FDISK, and DOS screen will stop scrolling. However, the "Format C:" command and its prompts can still be entered "blindly". After formatting the drive, restart the VM yet again and now the Windows 95 setup should load. The Sony Emergency Recovery program should load. Just press the icons as shown in the video to restore the the original Sony Software and Windows 95 install. Note, this will take a long time (over 1 hour in my case), so grab a beer, eat a pigeon, and watch some porn in the meantime. After the Sony Emergency Program does its thing, restart the VM and the Windows 95 setup program should load. Just enter the information and let the program do its thing. Windows will restart the computer, and then Windows setup will install the appropriate drivers for its hardware.

I went through Hell and back getting the video drivers to work. To save a lot of typing, just follow the appended instructions as outlined in the video. It will save a lot of trouble in the long run. By God, setting up the video drivers were the worst. When it comes to installing drivers, not all OEM Windows are equal in this regard, as driver installations are either simpler or complicated depending on the OEM in question. Just follow the appended information in the video to a tee to save the trouble that I've encountered earlier.

The SB16 driver install was much smoother. For the Creative Labs SB16, mount the SB16 ISO downloaded earlier, and boot into Win95 DOS. CD to your CD-ROM drive with the SB16 ISO mounted and run INSTALL.EXE. The default options should work and the installation program should be able to install the drivers without a hitch. From there, restart the VM and now Sony Vaio Windows 95 should be able to load up in high-resolution mode with sound.
