In August 2008, the very first Outside Lands festival took over Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
I was approached by Grande Vitesse Systems to design a recording solution for the event — fully powered by the GVS9000 setup. I worked closely with the organizers and Dan White to deliver a system that let each band walk off stage and receive their full-resolution recording on USB. I offered all engineering services at no cost, simply because I believed in capturing history.

I wasn’t able to attend (I had already planned a family trip to Hawaii), but this footage is from that original archive — uncompressed, pure, and untouched.
What stands out now is the crowd: nobody filming, nobody holding up phones, just people present in the moment.
