On Tuesday, Williams Formula One released their 2022 car livery, designed around a show car. While the car that was shown on Tuesday is a very different to the one that will take to the track in Bahrain in five weeks’ time, the launch was still a positive event for Williams. The team is going through a whole lot of change at the moment. The car was unveiled by Nicholas Latifi and former Red Bull driver Alex Albon, who is of course the replacement for the departing George Russell.
This years car is also the first car to be launched since the sad passing of Williams founder Sir Frank Williams. This is now the second year in a row that the Williams team is not run by any member of the Williams family, after the family ceased to have any involvement with the team after selling to Dorian Capital in August of 2020. This change however has been long coming as Williams have not been at their best for the last decade at least.
