In this episode we leave the Painted Gorge inn our DYI overland trailer and go across land toward Fossil Canyon. On the way we encounter a steep gulley that we must get down. It is very steep and the Xterra slides down a bit. Once down in the gulley we must figure out a way to get out! In the end we take the safe route and the drive out is uneventful. Once at Fossil Canyon we find seashell fossils embedded in the canyon walls and learn more about the astonishing geological and tectonic history of the area. For projects, Murray builds a roll up sun shade that attaches to the side of the trailer and works great! @ecospirit_life

We are Murray and Liana and our 2 dogs. Bevan the Irish terror and Viento the Baja street dog.

We are travelling from Canada to Mexico with our 2001 Nissan Xterra and a home built off-grid off-road overlanding trailer.

We always manage to find our way into trouble and so far have found our way back out. In the process we have met some lovely people who help us and have since become friends.

We will stop and visit them along the way.

We like to pay it forward and backward so when we see people in trouble we stop and assist if we can.

At 52 we decided to quit working and retire for as long as we can afford it. We have lost 6 friends to Illnesses. They didn’t get to enjoy a long retirement so rather than hope our luck is different we are going to grab as much life experience as we can while we can.

We need to be a bit frugal so the money lasts and maybe we will take on some contract or short term work here and there but that’s ok.
