To commence the new year, the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality, in partnership with SMG International, inaugurated 'Shanghai Let’s Meet for Melody' alongside the esteemed One Voice Children's Choir from the United States.

This series presents captivating musical renditions, featuring enchanting performances of 'Golden Hour' and 'Try Everything' from Disney's Zootopia, exclusively crafted by the choir for the vibrant city of Shanghai. From the breathtaking vistas atop the Shanghai Tower to harmonious melodies echoing along the banks of the Huangpu River, the One Voice Children's Choir delves into the sights and sounds of this bustling metropolis.

Embarking on an exploration of Shanghai's charm, the choir immerses themselves in the quaint allure of the Shikumen lanes, the radiant brilliance of the Yuyuan Garden lantern festival, the futuristic panoramas of the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Shanghai Library East Branch, and the world’s pioneering 'Zootopia,' among other captivating experiences.

Adding a personal touch to the series, two evocative short films capture the children's 'Shanghai moments.' The inaugural film, unveiled today on January 1, 2024, delves into how the choir employs music to articulate their impressions of Shanghai. The subsequent film, titled 'First Everything in Shanghai,' graciously invites the children to fill in their ‘first time ____ in Shanghai’, from their first selfie to their maiden stage performance, inaugural Citywalk, taste of authentic Shanghai cuisine, maiden voyage on the Shanghai metro, and their inaugural bond with a Chinese friend.

The entirety of the 'Shanghai Let’s Meet for Melody' series will be unveiled progressively throughout the New Year and the Spring Festival, disseminating jubilation and cultural opulence, epitomizing the ethos of camaraderie and cultural interchange. Concurrently, the official YouTube channel of the One Voice Children's Choir, boasting nearly 5 million subscribers and over 1 billion views, will actively promote this series.

This collaboration endeavors to exhibit a more open, inventive, and inclusive portrayal of Shanghai to the world, weaving an exquisite tapestry of music, culture, and friendship between China and the U.S.
