A Maplin's CompterDrum DIY kit made 35 years ago finally mounted into a custom 3D printed modular front panel and resurrected.
One resistor replaced to boost output up to modular output signal levels. The final op-amp now runs on +/-12V to improve dynamic range rather than a split rail supply from a 9V battery. The 3D printed panel has 8 inputs and one mixed mono out. A 4.7k resistor and LED are connected across the output to show when any of the drums are triggered. Inputs are wired so they are grounded until a eurorack trigger signal is connected.
Really impressed how it sounds! Has quite a sub-bass kick.

The original ComputerDrum was described in "Maplin Magazine September 1984" which can now be found online. It was originally designed to connect to IO port of a ZX81, VIC20, C64 or BBC Micro. Great that it works on modern day modular synth!

I'm now driving the triggers from a Tempes Utile DIY EuroRack module that provides 6 channels of drum triggers. The system is far easier to use now than with the original 8 bit Basic computer program examples!
