Composed by Uruguayan musician Gerardo Hernán "Becho" Matos Rodríguez in 1916 as a carnival march, it became one of the most famous tangos of all time.

By many tango dancers, it is considered to be "el tango de los tangos", the tango of all tangos!

"La Cumparsita" makes for a fantastic tango piano piece!
