Your hands and eyes need to function in harmony. The two become one when it comes to receiving. We want to make catching the ball as easy as possible and to do that, try and keep your glove in your line of site at all times along with ball.

You want to be able to see both your glove and the pitch when the pitcher is in his windup and when the pitch is coming in. If you can see both your glove and the ball, your hand-eye coordination will be improved and your reactions will be more accurate and timely.

Think about this like catching a football from Aaron Rodgers. He’s standing five yards away and is about to throw a football at you as hard as he can which, if you catch, you’ll win one million dollars. Where are you going to start your hands? Same goes for receiving. Try implementing this in your bullpen sessions and practice to see the difference.
