Trey Langford, Idaho Real Estate Agent with Build Idaho, discusses buying land in southern Idaho. He reviews some basic questions you should be asking when buying land.
Question 1) How much land do you need or want? Do you really want several acres or are you just looking for the privacy that a lot of land provides? One solution may be buying the right piece of ground, for example, one that backs up to BLM. Most people want a lot of land for privacy but do not want to spend a lot of time managing it. Do you want to spend half a day mowing an acre and additionally making sure it all gets watered?
2) What does well and septic look like? If city services are available how close are they and how easily can you connect to them? What does that cost? Is water readily available or is it deep? Is it possible that the good driller would not find water?
3) What is the land zoned? Can you do with the land what you want for yourself? If you buy Ag land, can you puta house on it?
