Logline: Join the adventure of the story behind the creation of the popular stage play "The Videogames". The next generation of playwrights & producers are here, and they've brought with them something new. This show is more than a play, it's a game.

Story Summary/Synopsis: This is a story about two young men and their desire to open up stage plays and performances to a wider younger audience. Jared and David met at AMDA, where they quickly discovered they were kindred spirits. After working together for a while on a few different performances the two got the idea to make a hunger games parity using video game characters.
During development the play turned into a bit of an experiment. In order to reach the younger audience they desired to connect with, they came up with an idea to make a more interactive show. Using various social media platforms and audience participation techniques Jared and David managed to create a play that can be different each time it's performed. Up to 15 of their video game characters could be potentially the winner of their hunger games parody.
Using these ingenious gimmicks they hoped to show a younger audience that theater is it just about the classics and doesn't have to feel stuffy or elitist. Development of the play was far from smooth though. Many different things almost killed the production before it even began. Luckily our two characters were able to push through and persevere. The show opened and was soon a big success. So much so, that they were eventually asked to bring the show off-Broadway. This story is about Jared and David's adventure in trying to make theater more accessible to a new audience and ultimately succeeding beyond their wildest expectations.
