‘Last Broadcast’ by Doves, live from their gig on the 8th March 2025 at the O2 Institute in Birmingham.

This gig was part of their tour promoting their 6th album ‘Constellations for the Lonely. This song is from their second studio album ‘The Last Broadcast’, released in 2002.

Vocals on this live version of the song are done by Jez Williams, instead of lead vocalist Jimi Goodwin, who was absent from this tour due to his ongoing recovery. I wish him the best. While the remaining members plus the live band put on a great performance, his spirit was no doubt still present, and I hope he is able to return soon.

I’ve made it my goal to audio record at least one song per gig I go to, this time however, this time I got 3. One of the reasons comes into play on this song. I thought ‘Rise’ was next and started, only to find out it wasn’t. However as I also really liked this song, I kept going, and man it’s a class song!
