Falling [Justin Thorne One Shot] Part 1/3
I lied sheepishly on the top of my bed covers, gazing up at the ceiling. I allowed my eyes to wander around, admiring the designs that shifted and shaped as they traveled. The moon's light slightly lit up my tiny room, casting a spot light at my huge pair of headphones. I tossed and turned, switching positions constantly. At a certain moment, I threw my hands in the air in frustration, swinging my legs to the edge of the bed. I straighten my back, pulling myself up to a seated posture. I craned my head to glance at the window, watching how graceful the tree's fingers tapped the glass. As I listen more carefully, I noticed a rhythm that played along with it. I smiled, feeling a proud warmth covering my heart. I knew I wasn't planning to fall into a slumber, so I got to my feet and shoved the squared opening up. The harsh wind greeted me with a swish at my pale, sleepless face, a tab bit of moisture tickling my cheeks. I snatched my gray sweatshirt and lifted my foot out and onto the safety of the branch. This process continued, until my entire body was in the complete home of nature. I scaled deeper down, my hands meeting the bark of the center of the strong tree.
I curled my fingers tight, my nails just about digging into the rough flesh. I was afraid of falling. Heights, not my biggest fear, but it wasn't my hobby. I leaned my head against the tree, closing my eyes shut. My ears shot up, the sounds of dancing leaves, and breaking twigs touching my center ear drum. "You know, weirdos like to seek pray at night." a voice joked, my eye lids fluttering awake. My sight darted in every direction searching for the speaker's source. "Hello?" I asked, my throat weak. "Over here, blonde sunshine." I could easily make out that tone was surely female. I moved to my left, staring in intense contact with a girl. Her black hair tied in a swift ponytail, politely revealing the real beauty that truly glittered in her brown eyes. I was starstucked.
"How did you see me?" I loosed my hard grip, concentrating sharper at her features. She giggled a bit, pushing her window higher. "Well, for one, your hair wasn't so hide-n-seek complex." she said, trying to climb onto the extension that was planted right next to her. I looked at her, as she balanced to the hub of her maple tree to be sitting right across from me. The only thing blocking us from getting as closer was the wooden fence below us, as well for the unlucky jump to the other's side. "The name's Lucy, Luce, Thunder, or Bolt. Pick one of the following and you won't die." she smiled, sticking out her palm for a firm shake. "Justin Joseph Thorne in his presence." I replied to her, copying her stance. We both laughed, moving out hands in the air as if we were shaking hands. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, her eyelashes brushing right underneath her eyebrows. "Your gorgeous." the compliment shot from my shivering lips. She blushed a rosy red, and my face froze. "Oh geez, did I just say that out loud?" I scrambled, hiding my embarrassment. She still didn't say a word, which caused me to be even more nervous. I instantly hopped to my feet and leaped in through my bedroom window. I slammed it shut, smothering my tomato colored expression into the middle cavity of my pillow.
