On Saturday, Sept 11th, 2021, the Hon Hsing Athletic Club of Vancouver was proud and privileged to collaborate with the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation (Ms Carol Lee) and with the Vancouver Chinatown Business Improvement Area Society (Mr Jordan Eng) in providing the grand opening ceremony lion dance for the 2021 Light Up Chinatown Festival! We were especially honoured to have the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Ms Janet Austin, participate in a traditional Chinese eye dotting ceremony for our lions! We sincerely hope that the Chinese-Canadian community will come together more in the future on projects such as this to bring awareness to Vancouver's Chinatown which so desperately needs help right now.
