Every now and again, a game comes around that gives me chills, and lets me reminisce about the past. Games aren’t what they used to be, but this one gets it! Well, I played another one of those recently, and it has changed the way I look at modern video games.

When I say that Dragon Quest XI feels like a 90’s game, I’m not talking about the 2d pixel art mode. I’m actually referring to the game in its entirety. HD graphics, voice acting and camera controls are the only things that separate Dragon Quest XI from previous entries into the series. Other than that, this game is completely 90’s. Unequivocally.
