Mawbawein one of the many villages in the Khatarshnong area in Meghalaya, India is one of the furthermost villages in the area. A gruelling 7 hour trek to and fro is the only way to get there. The Sohra River flows by the Village. The villagers live off the land and carry their agricultural produce like broomstick grass etc on their backs to the nearest station. Here we also tasted the traditional food of Khararshnong which included rodent and larvae.
