Day #7 we stopped at our first port of call: La Coruna, Spain. We got off the ship to be hit with pouring rain. Our little umbrellas and ponchos were no match for this storm. We took cover just feet from the boat and questioned to turn back around. A tour guide advised we take a local bus to the Hercules Tower instead of walking as we initially planned. We headed to the closest bus stop and got our first experience of traveling in Spain. No one spoke English and we did not even know the price of the bus ride. We made it to the Tower and were glad we pressed on through the storm. Back on board the cruise ship, the characters were all dressed in their Spanish outfits so we had to stop and meet a few of them. Another reason we love cruising with Disney is the special little touches like this! That evening we were bummed to learn we were not leaving port due to the bad weather. The rough seas would not allow for our ship to make it to the next port in Spain.
