2015 Opel SIDI Turbo (200hp) Zafira Tourer - DRIVE & SOUND (1080p)

This week I present to you the full Drive & Sound test with the 2014/2015 Opel Zafira Tourer powered by an all new 1.6 SIDI Turbo delivering 200 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Opel has done a big step forward by introducing their new SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) Turbo engines, also being available with 140 and 170 hp. The combination of low-end torque, smoothness, and a very moderate fuel consumption end up being one of the best engines currently out there. The crisp 6-speed manual transmission also fits great to the torquey character of the engine and I never wished to have an automatic. The video demonstrates how good the performance of this drivetrain is, easily reaching 200 km/h in a proper van. Not shown but for your knowledge I even managed to get it up to 240 km/h in the flat and thanks to the FlexRide suspension the car still felt great at that speed. Talking about FlexRide, its probably the second biggest selling point of this car. The electronic dampers enable you to experience great comfort on long distance (TOUR mode), but also offering the sport mode for high speeds or fast cornering, a very convincing suspension. The pull-through at low rpms is very good as the Overboost function kicks in to deliver the full 300 Nm even from 1.650 rpms on. Considering that I did a lot of performance tests during my 2 week test period (thank you Opel Germany by the way;-)) I found the overall consumption of 8.9 l / 100 km quite OK. Only if you doing high speeds over a long distance you see the consumption going up noticeably. If you mostly stick to 130 - 140 km/h on the Autobahn you might even get along with an 7.X!
