Three Ways Industry Can Help Advance the Emerging Field of Computational Social Science

• The annual International Conference on Computational Social Science, hosted by the Kellogg School of Management in 2016, convenes interdisciplinary researchers to discover, discuss, and collaborate at the intersection of data science and social science. This global event hosts academics, industry leaders, activists and government officials alike to showcase new data science techniques and new business models.
IC2S2 attendees have the opportunity to: apply advanced quantitative methods to diverse disciplines; access new research on social datasets and networks; and understand the challenges of applying complex computational methods to social science questions. With introduction by Kellogg Professor Brian Uzzi, industry leaders from Microsoft, Facebook and Buzzfeed provide deep insights as to how Computational Social Science is being used to grow markets and improve the user experience.
