Father Anthony Xavier, parish priest of Velankandi Mata Church, discusses a long-standing land dispute in an underdeveloped region near Manambam Beach. The land, originally bought by Siddik Seth from the King of Cochin in 1902, was donated to Farooq College in 1950. Local fishermen, who have been tenants for over 100 years, began buying the property from the college in 1987.
