On December 2, 2024, the Virginia Beach Police Department held a groundbreaking ceremony to officially mark the beginning of renovations to the VBPD Creeds Law Enforcement Training Facility.

Creeds was transformed from an airfield in the early 2000’s. This groundbreaking ceremony represents the first major upgrade since its opening. Improvements will include replacing the driving tracks, renovating buildings in the simulated city, and building a new six-story rappel tower.

With nearly $9.6 million in Federal and State grant funding, the upgrades this renovation will provide will be invaluable to the VBPD and the many partner agencies who train here, allowing us to continue to safely hone our skills in a controlled environment.
