New IEEE Standards Development for Distributed Energy Resources

Описание к видео New IEEE Standards Development for Distributed Energy Resources

As demand for interoperable grid systems grows, power and energy companies must be prepared to develop new solutions that interconnect with existing technologies. Engineers and researchers will need to understand the standards that guide and inform the development and implementation of the underlying technologies that support the smart grid.

IEEE and G-PST jointly present this webinar, exploring the most relevant standards related to interconnection and interoperability and the evolution and importance of those standards, offering insights into topics related to standards evolution. Viewers will learn more about ongoing standard development activities related to distributed energy resources interconnection:

• IEEE 1547.2 – Application Guide for Interconnection
• DER IEEE 1547.3 – Guide for Cybersecurity
• IEEE 1547.9-2022 – Guide for Interconnection of Energy Storage Systems
• IEEE 2800-2022 – Standard for Inverter-based Resources Interconnected with Transmission Systems

Viewers will gain a better understanding of the goals, purposes, and timelines for completing the drafting and/or updating of the standards and will learn about ways to join or contribute to the standard development efforts.
