Wild West Coast 4x4ing! Jacobsbaai/Tabakbaai/Swartriet: 1HZ 80 Series LandCruiser in Sand+Dunes?!

Our most EPIC weekend away! The Wild West Coast in all her glory & how an 80 Series LandCruiser with a 1HZ non turbo diesel handles the sand+dunes!?

We just spent the most unforgettable weekend away, up the West Coast, at the Swartriet beachfront cottages.
Located just next door to Jacobsbaai, an hour forty five from Cape Town, Swartriet happens to be one of my favourite places for a weekend getaway, to unwind, spend time with friends & family, explore, and get that little bit more intimate with nature.
I continue to create new memories at this magical oasis, building upon the old ones I made there growing up.
The endless white sand beaches, rocky granite outcrops jutting into the ocean, a gentle West Coast breeze at your back, the serenity and nourishment for your soul that Swartriet provides is unlike anything else.
West Coast, I love you.
Fishing, surfing, beach walks/hikes, and fun in the sun, a true Weskus Vibe!

Now onto the 4x4ing...
Behind Jacobsbaai, there is a network of coastal gravel roads that criss cross the rugged West Coast landscape.
Beautiful wild & plant life are abundant, wild flowers, Fynbos, birdlife aplenty, tortoises, Dassie and if you are lucky enough a Duiker or Springbok sightings, it's absolutely beautiful there.
Push further towards Tabakbaai/Danger bay, and the gravel turns to sand tracks, and even some dunes.
Time to lower your tyre pressures now...
The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking as you navigate the roads alongside Tabakbaai.
