Flashback Friday: In celebration of Aunty Edith’s latest accomplishment in which she will be featured on the quarter coin, we honor her with the sharing of this clip. Here she sings a Hawaiʻi classic that she also composed called, Ka Uluwehi o Ke Kai. Edith Kanakaʻole began teaching in the University System here at HawaiʻiCC and at UH Hilo, with the desire to bring Hawaiians into higher education. Thanks to her vision and tireless efforts, programs such as ours exist today.
