Once upon a time, a cruel and powerful lion lived in a dense forest. He was very strong and feared by all the animals. Every day, he hunted and killed many animals for food. Because of his cruelty, the animals lived in constant fear. They worried that if this continued, none of them would survive.

One day, the frightened animals gathered together to find a solution. After a long discussion, they decided to make a plan. They went to the lion and requested him to make a deal. They said that if he promised to eat only one animal each day, they would send one animal to him daily. This way, he would not need to hunt anymore. The lion agreed to the proposal but gave them a strict warning. He said that if no animal came on any day, he would kill all of them.

From that day on, one animal was sent to the lion every day. The rest of the animals stayed safe, but they were still unhappy because one of them had to sacrifice their life daily.

One day, it was the turn of a small rabbit. Unlike the other animals, the rabbit was very clever. He walked slowly on purpose and reached the lion very late. The hungry lion became extremely angry and roared loudly, asking why the rabbit was so late.

The rabbit calmly replied that another lion had stopped him on the way. He said that the other lion claimed to be the real king of the forest. Hearing this, the lion became furious. He proudly declared that he was the only king and demanded to be taken to the rival lion immediately.

The clever rabbit led the angry lion to an old deep well in the middle of the forest. He pointed inside the well and told the lion that the other lion was living there. When the lion looked into the well, he saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was another lion staring back at him, he roared angrily. The reflection roared back. In great anger, the lion jumped into the well to attack his enemy.

Unfortunately for him, there was no other lion. He fell into the deep water and drowned.

The rabbit then returned to the forest and told all the animals what had happened. They were filled with joy and relief. They praised the rabbit for his intelligence and bravery. From that day onward, the forest became peaceful again, and the animals lived happily without fear.
