The Secret Tomb in the Forest | Gwal y Filiast | Hidden Gems of Wales

Today we searched for a real hidden gem of Wales, Gwal Y Filiast. This secret neolithic tomb lies in a deep wooded forest, and although easily accessible, not many people know about it. So join us as we explore this secret neolithic monument in North Carmarthenshire.

We parked up along an unmarked layby on a road just south of Llanglydwen, before walking down a pathway with no public footpath marker (Though it is a public right of way!) The burial mound itself seems surprisingly intimate compared to others which feel grand. Tucked away in what looked to be an ancient Beech forest.
