Senegal President Set to Dissolve the Opposition-Dominated Parliament | Firstpost Africa

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is set to dissolve the country's opposition-dominated parliament. This after the opposition announced a motion of censure against the government earlier this week. Threatened by the censure motion, Senegal's head of government Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko addressed his staff on Wednesday and said that President Faye is planning to dissolve the parliament soon and initiate a major anti-corruption campaign. The parliament dissolution will effectively neutralize the motion of censure which was announced in response to a bill put forward by the country's new government leaders.
