This online tutorial has been developed with the aim of showcasing the functionalities of PowerFactory’s new co-simulation tool. This tutorial is intended for those with basic experience with PowerFactory, which they can then work alongside.

PowerFactory is a power system modelling software where one model can be simulated in the RMS or EMT domain. With the co-simulation tool, one model can be simulated in both domains at the same time.

Co-simulation offers many possibilities in how we can simulate large power systems. With this tool, different regions of one model can be simulated in parallel using multiple cores of your computer. For very large networks, this offers the opportunity to speed up computation time.

Co-simulation in PowerFactory is one of many functions that offer a flexible solution to power system modelling.
