If you work with Asset Framework (AF), at some point you'll need to work with power and energy. By the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to use AF to automate calculating energy produced or consumed by an asset over a desired time period. Knowing how to do this is incredibly important if embarking on a project involving energy management, or resource management. If watching this tutorial ultimately helps you to enable your company to produce more with less impact on the Earth - I'll be very happy.

In most industries, energy is measured in units like kilowatt-hours (kWh), and power is measured in units like kilowatts (kW). These units have a strange relationship with time, and because the PI System is all about time - the way calculations are configured is a little different to if you were dealing with other units. In this tutorial we'll focus on these units and how the interact with the AF Analysis and Event Frames features.
